In most of homes, Nest can charge its built-in battery from your existing wires. However, there are rare cases when Nest needs additional power.
Most of the time a heating and cooling professional can easily turn an existing extra wire into a common “C” wire or install a resistor to shore up the existing wiring to keep Nest fully charged. Occasionally, they'll need to replace the low voltage wire bundle running to the thermostat in order to supply a common wire.
If you want us to arrange for Nest Concierge professional installation, visit the Nest online store.
