Billing FAQs

The Nest store accepts most major credit cards.

What payment methods can I use?

We accept Visa®, MasterCard®, Discover®, and American Express®. All credit card information you provide to our server is fully encrypted and secure.

We can only accept credit cards issued by companies and with a billing address within the US or Canada.

When will my credit card be charged?

Your credit card will be charged when your order ships.

You will receive an order confirmation email from us shortly after you have completed the checkout process. If the product is in stock, orders will typically ship within 1-2 business days after placing your order.

Will I be charged sales tax?

For customers in the United States sales tax will be charged if your shipping address is in California, Tennessee, New Jersey, Washington, Texas, Florida or Massachusetts. For Canadian customers, we collect the appropriate HST/GST/PST based on the delivery address of your order.

If you, or the entity you are buying for, are tax exempt, we will happily refund your sales tax charges. We will need a current copy of your tax-exempt certificate that matches the billing or shipping address on your order.

How does sales tax work with instant rebates?

Customers who qualify for an instant rebate and live in a state where we charge sales tax (California, Tennessee, New Jersey, Washington, Florida or Texas) will be charged sales tax based on the full purchase price.

The only exception to this is customers who qualify for an instant rebate and live in Massachusetts. They will be charged sales tax based on the purchase price minus the rebate amount.

How do I know if I'm eligible for an instant rebate?

Instant rebate eligibility depends on where you live and your energy provider.
