What's a Nest Account and how do I get one?
Creating a Nest Account is super easy. And once it’s done, you’ll be able to remotely access and control your Nest Learning Thermostat from anywhere with an Internet connection.
Your Nest Account allows you to securely access and control your Nest Learning Thermostat from the Nest apps using your email address and password.
With your Nest Account, you can change the temperature on Nest, view settings, and more. Coming home from work early? Turn on the heat with your Nest Web/Mobile app as you leave, so your home will be toasty warm when you arrive.
Your Nest Account supports up to 10 Nest Learning Thermostats and 2 locations per account.
Once you've installed your Nest Learning Thermostat and connected it to Wi-Fi, create your Nest Account either by visiting the Nest Web app or downloading the Nest Mobile app.
To create a Nest Account on your computer:
- Visit the Nest Web app.
- Click on "Sign Up for a Nest Account."
- Enter your email address.
- Create a secure password that is at least 6 characters.
- Click Sign Up.
To create a Nest Account on your iOS or Android device:
- Download the Nest Mobile app for free:
- Open the Nest Mobile app.
- Tap "Sign Up for a Nest Account."
- Enter your email address.
- Create a secure password that is at least 6 characters.

In most cases, Nest will automatically detect your account when it's created on the same local area network that's connected to your Nest Learning Thermostat. Instructions to pair your thermostat with your Nest Account will appear on your computer, iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, Android smartphone and on the Nest display. If Nest doesn't detect your new Nest Account automatically, the Nest app will provide simple pairing instructions.
