How do I enroll in Rush Hour Rewards or Seasonal Savings?

If you’re a customer of one of Nest’s energy partners, you can sign up online to get Rush Hour Rewards and/or Seasonal Savings. Enrollment is different for each utility, so find out how to do it here.

First you’ll need a Nest Thermostat. Depending on which energy company you’re with, there are different ways to get your Nest Thermostat and to enroll in Rush Hour Rewards and Seasonal Savings.



Austin Energy

To be eligible for Rush Hour Rewards and Seasonal Savings with Austin Energy you must:

  • Be a current Austin Energy customer.
  • Have a Nest Learning Thermostat controlling an air conditioner, connected to Wi-Fi and paired with a Nest Account.

Other requirements and restrictions may apply.

Next, visit the Austin Energy partner page and click the Sign Up button. You’ll need to provide your Austin Energy account holder name, address, and account number. This is in order for Austin Energy to mail your $85 rebate. You’ll get one rebate for each Nest Learning Thermostat that replaces an existing thermostat in your home.

Once your application is submitted, it may take Austin Energy up to a week to verify your account.

Upon verification, you will receive a confirmation email from Nest indicating you’re now signed up and participating in Rush Hour Rewards and Seasonal Savings. After a few days, your energy company name (Austin Energy) should appear in SETTINGS > UTILITY on your Nest Learning Thermostat and in the Nest apps.

After your account is verified, you should receive your rebate check from Austin Energy in 4-6 weeks. If you have questions about the status of your rebate check, please contact Austin Energy (see below for contact information).

If you install more Nest Thermostats after you’ve already signed up for Rush Hour Rewards and Seasonal Savings, Austin Energy will automatically send you another $85 check for each Nest Thermostat you install. Note that you’ll only get an additional rebate if each Nest Thermostat meets the eligibility requirements and is paired with your home in your Nest Account.

If Austin Energy is unable to verify your account, you will receive an email from Nest with additional information. You may need to confirm your information and reapply, or this might indicate that your address or rate plan is ineligible.

Cambridge and North Dumfries (CND) Hydro

To be eligible for Rush Hour Rewards with CND you must:

  • Be a current CND customer in good standing.
  • Have a Nest Learning Thermostat controlling an air conditioner, connected to Wi-Fi and paired with a Nest Account.
  • Other requirements and restrictions may apply.

Next, visit the Cambridge and North Dumfries Hydro partner page and click the Sign Up button. You’ll need to provide your CND account holder name, address, and account number. This is in order for CND to verify your eligibility and mail your $200 rebate. You’ll get one rebate for each Nest Learning Thermostat that replaces an existing thermostat in your home. Once your application is submitted, it may take CND up to a week to verify your account.

Upon verification, you will receive a confirmation email from Nest indicating you’re now signed up and participating in Rush Hour Rewards. After a few days, your energy company name (CND) should appear in SETTINGS > UTILITY on your Nest Learning Thermostat and in the Nest apps.

After your account is verified, you should receive your rebate check from CND within 4-6 weeks. If you have questions about the status of your rebate check, please contact CND (see below for contact information).

ComEd

The enrollment period for ComEd’s Nest Rush Hour Rewards program has ended. Enter your email to be notified when there are updates to Nest’s Rush Hour Rewards and Seasonal Savings.

The following pertains only to customers currently enrolled in Rush Hour Rewards and Seasonal Savings.

When you originally signed up for Rush Hour Rewards and Seasonal Savings with ComEd, you were required to:

  • Be a current ComEd customer.
  • Have a Nest Learning Thermostat controlling an air conditioner, connected to Wi-Fi and paired with a Nest Account.

Other requirements and restrictions may apply.

You provided your ComEd account holder name, address, and account number when you signed up. This was in order for ComEd to send your $100 rebate. If you participate in Rush Hour Rewards through September 30, 2014, you’ll receive an additional $40 rebate from ComEd in October 2014. You’ll get one rebate for each Nest Learning Thermostat that replaces an existing thermostat connected to air conditioning in your home. Once your application is submitted, it may take ComEd up to a week to verify your account.

Upon verification, you will receive a confirmation email from Nest indicating you’re now signed up and participating in Rush Hour Rewards and Seasonal Savings. After a few days, your energy company name (ComEd) should appear in SETTINGS > UTILITY on your Nest Learning Thermostat and in the Nest apps.

Once your account is verified and approved by ComEd, you should receive your $100 rebate from ComEd in 3-4 weeks. If you have questions about the status of your rebate, please contact ComEd (see below for contact information).

CPS Energy

To be eligible for Rush Hour Rewards with CPS Energy you must:

  • Be a current CPS Energy customer.
  • Have a Nest Learning Thermostat controlling an air conditioner, connected to Wi-Fi and paired with a Nest Account.
  • Other requirements and restrictions may apply.

Next, visit the CPS partner page and click the Sign Up button. You’ll need to provide your CPS Energy account holder name, address, and account number. This is in order for CPS Energy to issue your $85 account credit. If you participate in Rush Hour Rewards through September 30, 2014, you’ll receive an additional $30 account credit from CPS Energy. Once your application is submitted, it may take CPS Energy up to a week to verify your account.

Upon verification, you will receive a confirmation email from Nest indicating you’re now signed up and participating in Rush Hour Rewards. After a few days, your energy company name (CPS Energy) should appear in SETTINGS > UTILITY on your Nest Learning Thermostat and in the Nest apps.

After your account is verified, you should receive your account credit CPS Energy in 4-6 weeks. If you have questions about the status of your account credit, please contact CPS Energy (see below for contact information).

Infinite Energy

Sign up for the Infinite Energy Nest plan to get a $249 Nest Learning Thermostat for free that will also be eligible for Seasonal Savings. Once you’ve signed up on the plan, your Nest Thermostat will arrive in 4-6 weeks. Visit the Infinite Energy partner page for more information.

This offer and access to Seasonal Savings is currently only available to new Infinite Energy Nest plan subscribers. Check the Infinite Energy partner page often for updates to the program.

The Nest Learning Thermostat included with the Infinite Energy Nest plan is enabled for Seasonal Savings. Once this Nest Thermostat is paired with your home in your Nest account, all other Nest Thermostats connected to that home will also be eligible for Seasonal Savings.

Reliant

To get access to these features, you must:

  • Be a current Reliant customer.
  • Have an air conditioner.
  • Have a Nest Learning Thermostat that’s connected to Wi-Fi and paired with a Nest Account.

Southern California Edison

To be eligible for Rush Hour Rewards with Southern California Edison (SCE) you must:

  • Be a current Southern California Edison customer.
  • Have a Nest Learning Thermostat controlling an air conditioner, connected to Wi-Fi and paired with a Nest Account.
  • Other requirements and restrictions may apply.

Next, visit the Southern California Edison partner page and click the Sign Up button. You’ll need to provide your SCE account holder name, address, and account number. This is in order for Southern California Edison to issue your account credits. SCE will credit your bill for $1.25 per kWh you save during rush hours. Once your application is submitted, it may take SCE up to a week to verify your account. If you have questions about the status of your account credits, please contact SCE (see below for contact information).

Upon verification, you will receive a confirmation email from Nest indicating you’re now signed up and participating in Rush Hour Rewards. After a few days, your energy company name (SCE) should appear in SETTINGS > UTILITY on your Nest Learning Thermostat and in the Nest apps.
